Sterilization cycles

You start a cycle with the pouches loaded, then release it or mark it failed with its parameters, indicators and the autoclave's printout.

What it does

  • Start a cycle: choose the autoclave and the program (for example Prion 134 °C, 18 min). Trasa suggests the next cycle number (correct it to match the autoclave's display) and you scan or pick the pouches in the load.
  • If a class B autoclave has no passed Helix or Bowie-Dick test today, Trasa warns you before the first load.
  • Record the result: end time, plateau temperature, pressure, holding time, the class 6 indicator in the load, the Helix strip, whether the parameters were reached, and that the pouches came out intact and dry.
  • Released: a named person releases the load after checking it. The pouches become sterile, with their use-by date worked out (by default 3 months for a single pouch and 6 months for a double pouch or a cassette, or what the practice or the instrument type sets). The person who released it stays in the register.
  • Failed: you write what went wrong and what you did; the pouches move to Cycle failed and must be repacked or put into a new cycle.
  • Import from the autoclave: paste or upload the autoclave's text report (MELAG, W&H Lisa, or any report with "label: value" lines) and Trasa fills in the fields it finds. You check them and save; the original text stays attached to the cycle.
  • Attach the photo or PDF of the autoclave's printout.

How to use it

  1. Cycles, then Start a cycle: autoclave, program, cycle number, pouches. Start the cycle.
  2. When it ends, open the cycle and fill in the result, or Import the autoclave report.
  3. Release the cycle or Mark as failed.
  4. Attach the document (a photo of the printout or the exported file).

Limits

  • The parser knows MELAG and W&H Lisa; Euronda, Tuttnauer and SciCan need real files before we can teach it.
  • No direct link to the autoclave (USB, network): import is by file or pasted text.

History

  • 27 September 2026, new: You can start an autoclave cycle with the pouches loaded, then release it after checking the pouches are intact and dry, or mark it failed with its parameters, class 6 indicator and Helix strip. The text report of MELAG and W&H autoclaves can be imported and Trasa fills in the fields.
